Goodbye Lamphere

Hello guys! I haven't blogged in a while and it is my fault for getting lazy, so I guess I am being punished right now because I have to blog about everything that happened in March and in April because "It's gonna be May" lol. So, let us get started! This post will be about me leaving Lamphere.
Family fun night was a lot of fun to work at but the room was so hot and the game that I was running was so complicated. It was called Bay Blade Battle and it was a game more geared towards the kids about 9 and up with good fine motor skills.
On April 1st, I retrieved my withdrawal sheet from the guidance office. In 1st Hour (English) I handed it to Mrs. Wolynski, she glanced at it and said, "No, I won't do this.", She then went to the front of the class, began to cry and said, "We are losing one of our own!",  She ordered everyone to wear black on Friday (my last day) in remembrance of me. I was about ready to cry myself! I went through the rest of the day by handing the sheet to my different teachers. On Friday, April 4th, Mrs. Wolynski brought in doughnuts, and as I was passing out the napkins Mrs. Wolynski asked that as I was handing a napkin to a student, the student would say their favorite memory about me. She is such a great teacher :')! I also baked green frosted sugar cookies with pink stars on them (in allusion to Patrick Star from "Spongebob"). Everyone took one (or two) and thought that they were delicious. During 2nd hour (Band) Ben asked Mr. Garvey to play the Alma Matter because it is really depressing. Mr. Garvey was all like, "What is it with band kids and liking things when they are depressing?", it was so funny!
After school that day we had percussion ensemble because we didn't have it during the day because it was a 1/2 day. At the end of percussion ensemble practice I ran down to the guidance office and I turned in my withdrawal sheet. As I was walking back, transcript in hand, I looked into the library to see all of the Lamphere teachers talking and having coffee. I saw my teachers, and was reminded of how lucky I had it at Lamphere. The staff is just so amazing and supportive! Once I got back into the band room, I had heard that my mom was waiting for me in the parking lot. So I said my final goodbyes. I gave Emma a goodbye hug and as I was giving her a hug, she began to cry. Soon after, I turned in my uniforms to Mr. Garvey, bid him goodbye, got into my car with Ben, and left Lamphere forever...
We stopped in front of Ben's house. Ben and I got out of the car and I gave him a hug goodbye and got back in. It was just such a sad day, I really miss Lamphere, but I cherish the memories I had their. Now, it is time to move forward with my life. I will never forget Lamphere, "Once A Ram, Always A Ram".

Family Volunteer

Hi guys! It's me again, and the reason why I did not blog yesterday was because yesterday wasn't really that eventful. So, lets get to it! Today in English we got an assignment where we have to come up with a myth explaining a natural phenomenon. We have to use a Greek god/goddess in our paper so it makes it more difficult. In band we got this new music called Alligator Alley. It kind of sounds like the music they played in line for the Expedition Everest ride at Disney World. In History we took a quiz and I thought that I did pretty good on it. I also decided to do the who Montgomery Bus Boycott project by myself. In Science we did a lab about looking for ships. My group found a ship and it was filled with toxic waste! In Spanish we reviewed our note and I feel like my brain is about to explode. In Geometry we took some more notes and now the math that we are learning doesn't seem so complicated anymore. After school I stayed for State practice and from 3:30 to 4:00 I got to play drum set in Jazz Band because Ben and Brian weren't there. Also, I had four hot chocolate drinks today, happy birthday Bigby! Tall drinks were a dollar today and after 6 p.m all drinks were half off! In Spanish I also signed up to volunteer at the family fun night at Simonds Elementary School. I can't wait to go there and help all of the little kids at my former elementary school. It will be so fun! Well, that is all I got for you guys today, SYWISY!

Moving Sickness

Hi guys! Sorry I have not posted lately but I just got a cold and I have not had the time to post anything. It is really bad, I have a horrible pressure in my ears and my sinuses are all clogged up. It is just terrible and I don't like it one bit. Ha, like anyone would like a cold! On Friday I watched Catching Fire with my mom and she loved it. On Saturday I helped my Paul move boxes and bookshelves and it was pretty draining. I had never slept so hard, especially because I got sick that night. Sunday was a day of rest, truly! God bless all of my family loading things into boxes while I am laying in my room doing nothing but healing ;). Today, we got assigned a project in History. We had to pick a person or event after WWII and make a song or something from it. So I came up with the Montgomery Bus Boy Band! I think I have mentioned this before but now I will actually be able to apply it! Today we also learned about tangents and chords. It was a lot of information to take in so it was a little bit confusing. I spent the rest of the day sitting on my reclining chair watching Adventure Time while drinking a Shamrock shake and a bottle of Vernors. For those of you who don't know what Vernors is (because you have been living under a rock since birth), it is basically a ginger ale. I also had some NyQuil. Even though this was the 5th time I had ever had NyQuil, it still taste like the exact same crap as it has tasted ever since the 1st time I have tried it. Well, that is all I have for you guys today. SYWISY and Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Band Festival

So today was the day of epic proportions, PI DAY! I came in second place at the reciting competition, the girl who beat me got 111 and I only got 65 digits. I still got the homework pass so I am happy. Today was also the day of our band festival. The nice thing about it was that we were hosting it so I didn't have to worry about going to a different school at a call time and it was just easier. Plus the band makes thousands of dollars for hosting it. Since I am in percussion I was automatically elected for the set up crew. We were about to go on stage when I forgot my drumsticks! So Zach B and I ran all the way from the theater to the band room as fast as we could and we got back to the stage just as Mr. Garvey was getting on the podium. Overall I think the group performance was awesome, and my self performance was good. It was really hot under the lights so I was sweaty, that and all the running I did. I was on my feet today for all of festival and after everything was done it was such a relief to sit down! In the sight reading portion of festival, I played the bells, xylophone, and chimes in a song called "The Quest". There was one part near the end of the piece where I had a xylophone mallet in my left hand and a bell mallet in my right and I was playing two parts at once. It was so hard but we got a division one rating so I am proud of all of us!

Overall, today was a good day. I took a Spanish quiz and it was "muy facil", which means very easy. I was expecting a lot more tough of a quiz but it was just multiple choice and fill in the blank. In English we were rating our comic strips on the Cyclops chapter in the Odyssey. We rated them on "Future Artist", "Future Something Other Than Artist", and "At Least I Tried". Three people won the At Least I Tried and they got chocolate gold coins OF EXCELLENCE! One person won both the At Least I Tried and the Future Something Other Than Artist so he got two gold coins OF EXCELLENCE! Finally, there was one champion for Future Artist who won... drum roll please... a gold coin OF EXCELLENCE! It was pretty fun. Today in band class we practiced inside the auditorium and we also had SSR (Silent Sustained Reading) in the auditorium OF EXCELLENCE! Just kidding. In History we learned about the Cuban Missile Crisis and how that it was the closest we ever came to a full on nuclear war. By the way, students were taught that in case of a nuclear attack, take cover under your desks. Yeah, like a desk is going to help you, it would melt away like everything else! In Science we did a lab, not a formal lab though, it was more like "play with a slinky and record your data. I already told you about Spanish and Pi day so we can skip that.

Well, that is all I have for today. SYWISY! (See You When I See You).
                                                                                                                                   Patrick

Black History Assembly

Hey guys! Wow, my second consecutive blog. I think I will start doing these things on a day to day basis instead of a weekly basis. Unless something totally boring happened, then it won't be worth writing about it. So today, after second hour, everyone went to the auditorium for the "Black History Assembly". It was supposed to be educational but it was more like a pep assembly for African American's. It was a little bit amusing but a waste of time in my opinion. There were a lot of vine references so that was pretty cool. Yesterday we had yet ANOTHER snow day and I got to earn money by shoveling another persons driveway. I am going to use that money to buy a new phone. Also, I came up with something great! In history I had an epiphany, the Montgomery Bus Boy Band! LOL! Well, Well, I guess that that is all the catching up I need to do. Bye!

High School/Catching Up

I started writing this blog in November and never posted it so here it is.

Well, this is it. Hey guys it's Patrick! I started high school back in September and so far it actually is way better than middle school like Zach told me. The teachers are better and the courses are better. The only thing I don't like so far is my advisory class and Spanish III. I really hope I don't have to take Spanish next year because it is really a struggle. On my first report card I got straight A's EXCEPT for one B. I have a GPA of 3.779, whereas my friend Ben has gotten almost all A+'s and a GPA of 4.2! The marching band season is over and the front line won section of the year! I am so proud of all of the hard work that everybody put into this season. I tried out for the fall plays and I got a role in the main play! I play the character George in a play of just 6 people! All of the drama kids are super nice but sometimes I am worried about their morals. Just sometimes though, not all the time. The play was so funny I could barely keep a straight face on stage! Summer (Drama Kid) invited me to Halloween party! So Zain and I went to the Halloween party and ate candy, went Trick Or Treating and watched the Exorcist. We all had a blast!

There is this one drama kid that really stands out to me, his name is Jake. Jake has just gone through some pretty tough times and through all of that he still keeps a smile on his face and it is truly remarkable. Jake was driving me home one day and the latch on his car door broke. It was freezing weather and there was frost stuck to his window. I helped him scrape off the frost and he had to drive to his house holding the door closed with his left arm. Which was pretty weak at the time because when he went to our school's blood drive, they were trying to find a vain and they accidentally hit a nerve and it gave him permanent nerve damage. Some of his symptoms are loss of blood flow and pain in the wrist. After we all went to Jake's house to switch out of the car to his Mom's van we all went out to eat at Culver's. That is when I was starting to show my first sign of strep throat, which was later avoided (thank goodness). Some other bad things happened to Jake through the rest of the month. During the opening night of the play, Jake was cleaning off the cornflakes from the table in between scenes and Zain accidentally turned on the lights while he was on stage, but it was not Zain's fault it was someone else who's name I am not going to list. After the play we all went to Leo's Country Oven. Jack (not Jake) gave us the directions to Kirby's Coney Island and we wasted gas. At the restaurant Jake and Jack both ordered fries and while Jake was in the bathroom, the fries and a vanilla ice cream came. Long story short Jake did not get any fries, but good news is that he was not charged for any fries either. I felt so bad that all of this stuff happened to Jake so I baked him a cake and I am delivering it to him today!

Until next time, bye!
